It’s almost time for the Summer Olympics events to take over our lives as we tune in to see how many medals Team USA can win.
We have really grown to love watching these athletes compete with others from around the world and getting the kids to join in the excitement just makes it that much more fun!
If you haven’t already grabbed our Summer Olympics-inspired coloring pages, be sure to do that now! Then, go ahead and dive into the word searches we have for you today.
We have two levels to choose from so you’ll have something for everyone! The easy one has just 10 words in large font, while the two more challenging puzzles have 20-24 words that are a little harder to find.
Plus, all of our word searches have an added layer of fun because they can also be colored when the kids are finished with the puzzle!

Free Printable Summer Olympics Word Search Puzzles for Kids
Whether you have a young child just starting to learn how to read or an older sibling who loves a good challenge, there are two levels of difficulty available to download.
Below, you’ll find an easy download button for each sheet.
Plus, at the bottom of this post, we have a bigger download pack that includes all three word searches and their respective answer sheets (just in case someone needs a little help!).
Easy Summer Olympics Word Search
The first level is perfect for younger kids, with larger fonts and simpler word lists. This word search includes vocabulary that is easily associated with the summer Olympics, such as rings, sports, medal, torch, and more. As children search for these words, they not only build their reading skills but also reinforce their understanding of the themes of the event.
This smaller word search is a great option for beginning readers. The puzzle contains large text with 12 words that are easy for younger kids to read. Also, there are no diagonal words.
Summer Olympics: 20 Words
For older kids, the next level offers a more complex puzzle. The fonts are slightly smaller, and the word list has more words to find.
There are 20 Summer Olympics words hidden in this puzzle! Can you find them all? Grab this printable for stronger readers who are up for more of a challenge. The words in this puzzle go every way except backwards.
Summer Olympics Games Word Search: 24 Words
This one is the most challenging of the three, but not super-hard. Big kids will be up for the challenge. The puzzle still has no backwards words, and has 24 Olympic sports that go forwards, up and down, and diagonal.
